American Clay is an earthen plaster made from clay, natural aggregates and mineral pigment. No cement, no lime, no plastic film over the wall. It goes on by hand, it breathes, and the colour is the material itself rather than a coat of paint on top of it.
Clay colour shifts as it dries, so we make a sample board and let it cure before you sign off on anything.
Clay needs a primer with tooth. Skip it and the plaster releases later.
Applied by hand in thin coats, worked in different directions, which is where the depth comes from.
Clay hardens by drying, not by chemical set. We tell you what to expect over the first days.

On the walls of a normal bathroom, yes. Not inside a shower or anywhere with direct running water. For a wet room, tadelakt is the right material and we do that too.
Yes, and this is one of its advantages. Clay reworks with water, so a damaged patch can be reopened and blended instead of cut out and replaced.
Yes, and it is not competing with paint. It competes with wallpaper and with specialty finishes, and it lasts far longer than either.

When I needed a someone to hang and finish drywall in my new house, Diego was the only one to respond in a timely manner. He was extremely responsive and he scheduled faster than other companies have for my past projects. The communication was solid and the price was more than fair. The quality of finish was on point. It is rare these days to find a company that I have had such an enthusiastically positive experience with. Diego’s guys are artisans. Watching them work is a ballet of talent. Price is very reasonable for such a great product, esp since our job had a certain amount of complexity involved - 14’ commercial ceilings at ASt Commerce Park. Highly recommend.

Diego and his crew are far and away the easiest sheetrock contractor I’ve worked with. They fit into my schedule, they worked hard and fast to hang and worked cleanly and thoughtfully to mud, tape, and sand. Can’t ask for anything more. I’m bring them in for my next project in Burlington and to work on my own home.
